Construite à l'origine en 1874, cette maison historique a été vendue au Dr William Irving en 1905 et au Dr Francis Bennett en 1934. La famille Bennett a résidé dans cette maison pendant quatre générations. Francis Bennett est surtout connu pour avoir examiné les filles impliquées dans l'affaire Parket/Hulme, qui a ensuite été transformée en un film intitulé 'Heavenly Creatures' par Peter Jackson. Certaines parties du film ont été tournées à The Grange.
