The Historic Landmark Inn was built in 1905 as a home for the train master as the railroad was built through the town. It was also the town's boarding house as they began to get train visitors.

The Historic Landmark Inn is the oldest lodging establishment in Branson, Missouri. It is also considered the oldest surviving commercial structure, as terrible fires ravaged the Main Street area in the early 1900's. It being located adjacent to the railroad property two blocks from Main Street.

Harry S Truman, Harold Bell Wright, Roger Maris, and even outlaws Bonnie and Clyde have all been reported as former guests. Current celebrities and authors continue to stay with us. Their identities are kept confidential as they are still living. The Historic Landmark Inn is also believed to be one of Bob Barker's first employers.
